Singh Family Tragedy

On the morning of June 12, 2022, bibi Kulwinder Kaur and veer Gurpal Deol lost their only remaining child, Manjit Singh, due to a major heart attack. Manjit Singh was his parents' only financial support due to their old age and withering health.

17 years ago, the family had already suffered the unbearable loss of their younger son, Ranjit Singh. Ranjit lost his life while trying to save someone else's. Ranjit, a hard-working young immigrant who barely took any days off, convinced by his friends, decided to attend a traditional dance competition, Bhangra Blowout, in Washington, DC. While witnessing a fight after the show, out of the kindness of his heart, Ranjit tried to break it apart and was stabbed to death mid-quarrel. Manjit, his older brother, would never be the same again. Manjit's death is tragic as the family was finally learning to continue with life & fill the void of Ranjit:

The family moved to America 20 years ago after a lot of struggle in India seeking a better life. Their sons worked day & night at a local gas station to make ends meet. Kulwinder Kaur, the mother, recently had her heart valve replaced, and the father recently had open heart surgery.

The elderly couple, devastated and heartbroken, is struggling to survive through these turmoils of life. While we cannot ease the pain of loss, with your support, we hope to at least try to alleviate some financial burden and give the family a chance to grieve and get back on their feet.
