People Helping People: New roof for Eban & Son!!
Donation protected
Hello friends!
We're in the historic city of Highland Park, MI. The homeowner, Eban, has lived in his home for 16 years, along with his teenage son. Eban is a disabled single dad, community activist and friend to many in the neighborhood. He has to stretch his fixed income for both himself and his son each month. Ebans main request when he reached out to our nonprofit agency, Rehab Highland Park was to remain in his home and get his roof, which is in grave disrepair, replaced. We are hoping that through the love, kindness and generosity of others we can reach our goal and help a deserving member of our community. Our fundraising goal is a big one as the cost to replace the roof is going to be well over $20K.
We are hoping to raise these funds by Spring 2022. So far, we were able to gather enough donations through our non-profit Rehab Highland Park to have the roof tarped to stop/prevent further damage and had his inside stairs reinforced as they were a health/safety hazard for Eban and his son. Eban has tried to get help through various agencies, grants, and home assistance programs but has been unsuccessful for various reasons.
Eban is not the only Higland Park homeowner with these issues. There is a limited amount of resources for those in Highland Park for home repair, and the need is great. Having these historic homes are a dream but the cost of repairs and upkeep can become a real nightmare. Please help us get Eban a new roof so he and his son can live out their dream and have some peace of mind. We thank you in advance for your kindness!
