Single dad Needs Help Getting a Car for Family

Hi my name is Ben. I have an eight-year-old daughter named Eliana, and a one year old husky/shepherd that we rescued, named Jack.
I know helping single moms is a lot more common, and probably a lot more fun, than helping a single father. But I thought I would try this anyway. (I say this mainly because there are groups who help single MOMS with donated or cheap cars, but not single DADS.) So I’m guessing fundraising as whole is probably the same.
I’ve come a long way from who I used to be on my own hard work, but living in Boulder County is expensive so I am in a really tough position right now.
About six months ago I was able to beat homelessness and work my way into getting a two bedroom apartment for my daughter and I.
A couple weeks later my car broke down. I was able to buy a new one for $2000 and it lasted just over 5 months.
What’s worse is I paid $1000 to have it fixed and that money went down the drain because the car was still doing the same thing it was doing when I took it in to the repair place. I got totally ripped off for $1,000.00 So please don’t go to Meineke in Longmont. Yes. I can’t believe they totally ripped me off for $1000 that I did not have to throw away. But they did.
Anyway, I live in Boulder and I work in Longmont, and my daughter goes to school in Louisville. I have a really good job and she goes to a really good school.
like I said I’d beat homelessness and even addiction to get my life back on track and I’ve been doing really good but I have a lot of hospital bills that are preventing me from being able to buy a car from a dealership.
So, with what I have in savings, if I am able to raise my goal on here, I will be able to get a decent reliable car that I need to get my daughter to and from school and myself to and from work.
Getting a job and saving to get an apartment while getting and staying clean at the same time wasnt the hard part….
the hard part is maintaining the stable and responsible life I’ve created for my daughter and I.
I can pay my bills with what I make. Such as phone, electricity, internet and that stuff. But after rent there just isn’t much left over for savings. Im also paying for my daughter to go to a really good school because helping her not end up in the places I’ve been is worth the 200 a month it costs me.
But after those bills and rent there just isn’t much left over.
And now once again I’m in a position where I need a car and I am $1000 less in the bank that I have to put towards it because of a shady car repair place. (Meineke in Longmont)
I realize that helping single fathers doesn’t seem as fun as helping single mothers but I am truly in need of the help and I really believe that one day, if I keep on the path that I’m on, I will be in a position to pay these donations forward and help someone struggling like I am now., It’s hard to be asking to be helped like this. But one day I truly believe I’ll be in a position to do the same for someone else.
At least that’s my goal.
To be on the other side of a GoFundMe some day.
But for now I just need to ask the community for help getting a car that will be able to get my daughter and I in a position to keep getting to school and work.
