Single Mom in Need of Funds Until RN Job Starts

Hi, my name is Mykaela, I'm a 23-year-old single mom to my son Tristan, who will be 4 in August. I really hate to have to do this. I said I never would. I said I would always try my best to provide for my son as a single mom and never have to depend on anyone else, but I’ve reached my breaking point. I have nothing.

Since I graduated from nursing school in May, I’ve run out of student loans and haven’t been able to work due to financial reasons. In order to take my NCLEX, I have to pay hundreds of dollars that I don’t have. Until I receive an authorization letter to practice as a new graduate nurse, I cannot start working at the hospital at which I’ve already signed a contract to work. And now because my son doesn’t have a school to go to, I don’t have childcare. I haven’t received child support in over 2 years (Tristan’s bio father hasn’t seen him in person in 3.5 years, I do everything completely by myself). I filed for child support about 2 years ago, a court order is even in place, and I still haven’t received a dime. I don’t have financial support from my family either.

I’ve been struggling with severe chronic pain and several chronic health issues that I’ve been having to see specialists for and even had two surgical procedures — and I still haven’t found answers for my chronic pain. There was a point in time a few months ago where I was seeing 2-4 doctors per week. This obviously was very expensive. My pain is getting more severe now and I found a specialist who may have some answers, but I can’t afford it.

I’m very close to being evicted from my apartment because I have literally no finances, and I feel like a complete failure as a parent, an adult, a student, you name it. I really, really hate asking for help, but I’m at my wits end. If I get evicted from my apartment, I won't have a healthy or consistent place to stay, and that kills me. I would really like to stay put for my son's security as well as my own.
