Single mom of 3 who is facing homelessness
Hi, I’m a single mother of 3 beautiful children 2 by birth and 1 through adoption. Ages are 10 (girl) 11(boy) 12(boy), I’m 29. As a family we relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada due to me getting a new job opportunity but as we all know COVID19 came in and shut half our businesses down so I was forced to terminate my position until further notice. I have no criminal history or bad rental history so my plan was to find housing and move with the money I had saved up, in which I was able to drive myself and the kids across the country to Vegas from Indianapolis, Indiana. My problem now is I’m in Vegas with the kids no job and still haven’t found a house that can fit all of us, I was told that I have a collections on my account from my previous apartment 3,000 for a clean up fee for moving out without notice. I have spoken with the apartment to get this fixed but it’s been a tough battle since I’m not in Indiana to do a face to face. I’m having a hard time and I’ll have to find a cheaper route In the meantime. I felt so bad because both of my son’s supposed to had graduated from 5th grade this year and I planned on taking them to Disney world but due to the unfortunate events I’ve spent half of my savings on living in hotels throughout Nevada. We are now facing homelessness and I’m getting scared that we will be living in my car until something better comes along, I have applied for unemployment and is awaiting on a decision so I’m praying that’s comes through for us. I need to get the kids into a nice suitable house we’ve already been robbed out here someone stole my purse with my children social security cards and birth certificates I sent in for replacements and that cost me 180$ so money is scares and it’s getting tough. If you can help out with anything I’ll be very appreciated I’m a healthcare worker I’ve been a MA for 9yrs I’ve always tried to help and be a good role model I plan on working at the hospital as soon as we’re settled down.
