Single Mom of Two, Veteran, and Wildfire Survivor

23 months ago, my children and I lost our home in a wildfire. We have been on the move since then living in a hotel for 4 months, living in Texas for 6 months, and then coming back to San Diego and have been here for a year now. We live in a small travel trailer near the property that used to have our home on it. I am fighting with my ex, who left in November 2019 for a new duty station in MD. He has kept little to no contact with me and our kids. The best he could muster when our home burned to the ground on 9/5/20 was to send me two text messages. My kids don't know who he is, and they mourned the fact that they no longer have a dad. He has refused to participate in signing all insurance checks, insurance documents, mortgage documents, etc. He shows no care that his kids have a roof over their heads or food in their mouths. He sends me a small amount of money each month and only when I beg. I had given up my career in the Navy to stay at home with the kids and started a small business making rosaries, which started off well until the fire. Ever since, I have barely been able to get sales, resulting in immense suffering for my two small kids and me. I have to decide whether I should buy toothpaste or sunscreen (Both that we need). I am currently unable to pay rent, buy gas, pay for the internet, pay for trash, or pay for needed every day items. I am looking to return to school and will use my Post 9-11 GI Bill to bring in an income that is stable and get my degree to work in public health. However, it won't be until the end of September until I get funds from that. I really need help from kind-hearted individuals who can donate money so that I can pay bills, take care of my kids, and our animals. Please help me get through this challenging period while I fight my ex in the court system.
