Single mom recovering from spinal injury following car wreck

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Megan, and Jessie is my cousin. I have no doubt, she WILL survive this tragedy and overcome the obstacles in front of her, BUT I just hope & pray she doesn't have to start back at zero. Below are the details of her accident and recovery.

On the morning of April 11th, she had just dropped her oldest daughter off at elementary school, and was making the 5 minute drive back to her home, with her 2.5 year old daughter. On the drive back, a car swerved slightly into her lane and panicked, she tried to get out of the way & overcorrected, hit the median, jumped a curb and her car ended in the grass beside the road. Fortunately no other cars were involved, and her toddler Melody was perfectly fine in her car seat. Additionally her best friend's husband was nearby to comfort the baby and call 911. Unfortunately, Jessie did not leave the accident in the same condition. She suffered an L1 burst spinal fracture, had trouble feeling her left leg, and was told with this type of injury, paralysis and other serious complications were a very real danger. As you can imagine, being stuck in a back brace, unable to move, while awaiting surgery, and having this to contemplate, is not good for ones mental health. In addition to this she has voiced concerns and stressed over losing her job, losing her car, missing her daughters, being stuck in a hospital, feeling isolated, paying her rent, etc. Even so, she courageously went into spinal surgery on the 12th with a determination to face the upcoming battles. The surgery was successful and since then she has managed to stand (with assistance) and sit up, both with great pain. This makes us very hopeful that she will regain the ability to walk again with time and therapy. However, the road ahead is long and difficult. Every day holds its own battles for her to face and outcome. We do not have an exact time frame yet, but it is expected she will be in the hospital for several weeks, followed by months of therapy. Several of her anxieties focus around financial loss. It is my hope that we can raise some money for her to use towards purchasing a new car or arranging other transportation options, rent, hospital bills, and whatever else she needs to help her get back on her feet. It is my hope that knowing she doesn't have to start back at zero will help alleviate some of that stress and give her extra strength to focus on her healing and recovery. Anything you can give will help. Prayers, kind words of encouragement, and sharing of this GoFundMe would also be appreciated and very helpful. If you've made it this far, God bless. ❤️
