Help needed for a young girl
Donation protected
Last September, during my trip to Mongolia, I crossed paths with Bolor, a single mother. She had moved from the rural countryside to the city to bring her daughter Anaraa closer to the kidney dialysis center. Anaraa, a spirited 12-year-old girl, has been relying on these dialysis sessions since 2018. Hearing the petite mother maneuvering crowded public buses with her sick daughter three times a week to and from the dialysis center was a heartrending story. Their ordeal is compounded by Mongolia's brutal winters, where temperatures dip as low as -30 to -40 F, often causing them to miss their bus due to overcrowding. They live in a small, coal-burning "ger" (a traditional Mongolian yurt) in a relative's yard in the capital city's outskirts, getting their water supply from a well approximately 1000 yards away. Despite these difficulties, the mother creates genuine leather souvenirs and rosary pouches at night. Anaraa's twin and younger brothers, who live with their grandmother in the countryside, would occasionally visit and help them make the souvenirs. The earnings from these souvenirs are barely enough to cover their daily expenses like food and heating. The upcoming kidney transplant procedure for Anaraa and her mom ( donor) itself will be provided at no cost in Mongolia. However, the initial process of “matching” their blood types and the subsequent therapy will cost an estimated expense of approximately $20,000 prior to and medications after surgery. This therapy involves purchasing expensive medications from overseas.
Anaraa's health deteriorates as her surgery keeps getting postponed due to a lack of funding. With the harsh Mongolian winter approaching, your generous donations have the power to save this young girl’s life by providing the necessary treatments.
