Single Mother fighting for Custody

 

 

I’m raising money on behalf of Lori Berkeley, a survivor of 13 years of domestic violence needs our help. In 2019 Lori could hide the marks no more. Upon a brutal assault from Lori’s ex-spouse, she was forced to go to the hospital, upon discharge she arrived home where she was assaulted again. A few days later Lori’s in-laws petitioned for temporary custody. Lori, the victim, was forced to have supervised visits with her children for over a year. Upon finalization of the divorce in 2020, Lori was awarded the “Dad” visitation schedule while her abuser was awarded full custody. Lori has abided by the schedule and even taken them when it is not her scheduled time. She has been harassed, threatened, gaslight, and bullied by her ex-spouse and ex-in-laws if she does not abide but what they want.

 UPDATE Lori went to court in December where custody was ordered back to normal, removing the children from the ex-in-laws but putting them primarily with abusive ex-spouse. When Lori went to pick up children from ex-in laws she was assaulted once again by the family. Lori is now going back to court before April to fight for primary custody. Both children are showing signs of serious stress & frustration with their current primary caregiver.  These children and Lori have been through enough trauma at the expense of the ex-spouse & in-laws. Please help her with attorney & court fees as she fights for primary custody of these children to have them in a safe, nurturing, loving and stable home. One of which their current primary caregiver is not able to offer that at this time.
