SINGLE MOTHER&DAUGHTER TO LOSE HOME TO LTB DELAYS

Donation protected
My name is Elsie Kalu, and I need your help.
I purchased a home to live in with my autistic daughter and my life is spiraling out control due to excessive delays at the Ontario Landlord Tenant Board.
My hearing at the Ontario Landlord Tenant Board has still not been scheduled. I applied on May 10, 2022 - almost 6 months ago. A request for an expedited hearing was sent to the LTB with 14 pages of evidence demonstrating financial, health and mental distress to me and my special needs child on August 24, 2022 but was denied.

The tenants currently living in my home have not paid rent for 6 months. I had to pause my daughter receiving life-dependent and time-sensitive therapies to afford this extra financial burden. My daughter could not start school this September as the school district is located in the area where the house was purchased (with arrangements for special needs), which is far from my current area. My credit card is maxed out, I have borrowed from several friends, and I am on the brink of losing the home. I am currently not working as my job as a financial advisor requires a certain credit score level, which cannot be maintained due to accessing credit facilities to pay for tenants to live free; my mental health is greatly impacted. My autistic daughter has been kicked out of 2 care facilities since this nightmare started and her situation has worsened. I do not qualify for OW as I own asset (the home I cannot live in because of the tenants) worth more than $10,000 . I cannot qualify for EI because my employer wants me to increase my credit score and return to the job, which I obviously cannot at the moment as I have to continue to pay freeloader tenants' bills.

My request for an early hearing was denied by the Adjudicator who mentioned twice in his decision that I should have made alternative living arrangements and this is his reason why my request was not urgent or deserves any merit. How long should a landlord arrange a separate place to live after buying a house to live in? How much money should a landlord keep aside to cater to strangers occupying their house *for free* to satisfy the 'law' according to LTB? Is it possible that the Adjudicator did not read the 14 pages of evidence submitted, showing evidence of extreme financial hardship? How do I afford an alternative living arrangement with no money and when I am forced to sustain two strange adults with no end in sight? My mortgage company has communicated that they are set to commence legal action on December 6th to repossess my home if this is not resolved by then. I have fallen behind on the property tax, and the government is adding monthly interest to this.

My life, finances, physical health, mental health, relationships, and daughter's health and development, are all wrecked as a result of this inept, unfair, and biased organization. I am not working; where will I continue to get almost $3k monthly to pay for tenants to live for free alongside my own rent and utilities of another $2,500 per month and for how long will I have to do this? What sort of extreme unfairness is this? I have sought every help I know from responsible parties, and the LTB is willingly hurting and robbing my daughter of vital services to enrich tenants. Let it be known that I did everything I was asked to do, including paying compensation to the non-paying tenants, that I cheated no one, but the government, through LTB decided to ruin my life.

With the support of other SOLO - Small Ownership Landlords of Ontario, I am setting up this Go Fund Me account to try and raise funds to accommodate this extra burden until I get a hearing from LTB. Thanks!
