Premature babies in singleton nicu
Donation protected
Hi, I have set this go fund me page to help raise money for the neonatal ward in singleton hospital as a way to thank them for all the amazing hard work and dedication they have shown in the time I’ve been there with my daughter Ava. This has been set up along side a charity bingo night that will also help raise funds for the hospital
Ava’s story
Ava was born at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 775g (not even a pound of sugar). Ava was born at 19:16pm at glangwili, she was then ventilated before being transferred up to singletons neonatal ward where she has stayed since and has been looked after by some of the best nurses, doctors and consultants in wales. They have done everything from eye tests to brain scans, from ventilation to hiflow to help Ava while she grows and gains the weight and strength she needs for when she can finally be well enough to come home.
The nurses have also been a constant support for me while I have been in singleton with Ava. They have been patient and kind while teaching me everything I have needed to learn about having a premature baby, from things like changing a tiny nappy the right way, how to feed her and all the way to learning how to stimulate her if her sats drop. Even giving me a place to stay and food every single day, so it’s been one less worry to think of.
These amazing nurses have done and continue to do so much for Ava and myself.
Any donations you give will be greatly appreciated and will go towards helping these amazing people continue to work with premature baby’s and their families
Thank you so much for reading our story.
