Sinus infections and 'All We Know Is Falling'
Donation protected
It's November, and I've been on the IR (injured reserve) with a sinus infection for over a month, so I haven't been able to man the blog. I'm on my second course of antibiotics because sinus infections are for me as to what UTI's were to my mom--debilitating, somewhat frequent, and painful.
As a result, I've not been able to raise the "blog money" that helps Aunt Annie and I pay the bills over the last five weeks. And we're in a hole in terms of our ability to pay the bills as a result.
I figure that a conservative estimate is that we're down $600 from where we would usually be at this time in November, had I been healthy from the start of the Red Wings' season. Instead, I've been dealing with anitibiotic side effects and Aunt Annie's been dealing with her chronic health issues as well...
And we both feel like we're falling without a parachute here. It's an awful feeling to always be falling, to not quite know during a good month whether you're going to be able to pay your bills, and it's a worse feeling to know that we're in trouble yet again.
But I talked to my therapist and she told me that I need to be proactive, set up a GoFundMe, ask for help, and not be ashamed of the fact that Aunt Annie and I need help to keep our little South Lyon Experiment going for another month.
Between her Social Security, my State of Michigan caregiver's pay and the blog, we can stay independent. Without it, we fall into a bit of a hole, and it gets bigger every month. This month, as Thanksgiving approaches, we're also down my food stamps as the State is delaying the processing of my renewal forms for EBT, so it's particularly "tight."
So we're asking for help, again. Not asking without some guilt, but one must do what one must do to survive, and that's where we are at right now. Survival mode. $600 will probably get us through the month. It's probably more like $800 once we sort everything out, but we're short the electric bill, the gas bill for heat, the cell bill and Thanksgiving dinner, to start.
The bill doesn't take into account that we're also looking for a "newer" used vehicle as my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica has been deemed mechanically unsafe to use, and is dragging its muffler and catalytic converter when I do drive it, but that is another goal for another day.
Anyway, if you are able to give Aunt Annie and I a hand, we would be grateful for the assistance; if you can't or are not inclined, I thank you for reading this anyway. It sucks to be a "charity case" sometimes, but we're just trying to get by from day to day and month to month here.
