Rep King, Please Respect Diversity

Rep Steve King has made many outrageous statements about race and diversity, most recently saying "our civilization can't be saved by other people's babies."  This statement is abhorrent to many of his constituents in Sioux County, and recently over 200 people gathered for an hour in frigid weather at the Sioux County courthouse to express their disagreement with his statements.

The funds we collect here will be used to pay for a full page ad in the Sioux City Journal--costing just over $2,600.  The ad will consist primarily of a letter by Orange City businessman Steve Mahr stating that we value diversity and noting that we are offended by King's demeaning characterization of immigrants.  We would like him to try on the values of most of us in Sioux County, namely,  neighbor love and neighborliness.
