Sis Williams Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Update 11/15/23: Thank you to all who have donated it is greatly appreciated. Sis was discharged from Spaulding Rehab today and transferred to Winchester Rehab. At this point she was unable to go home due to her speech and still needing mobility assistance.
Since the Stroke Sis has made great progress. She has good mobility back in her right leg (with a brace) and arm. She still struggles with right hand and finger movements as well as her speech which is still greatly affected.
We are hopeful Winchester rehab can continue the great progress she has already made.

On October 24th, our beloved Sis suffered a stroke. The stroke occurred on the left side of her brain, and this affected the right side of her body. Sis was not able to verbally communicate and had no mobility in her right arm and limited mobility in her right leg.
Before this devastating event, Sis was a spitfire with a passion for life, including her longstanding career as a Barber at Simard's Barber Shop in Salem, MA. She loves football, hockey the town of Salem and most importantly spending time with the people who mean the most to her friends, family and five grandchildren. (Casen, Jayden, Cadey, Mia & Lacey which I'm sure you all have heard about!)
Sis was discharged from Salem Hospital to Spaulding Rehab in Charlestown on October 30th. She is receiving extensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy with their help, she is regaining strength and has regained some movement in both her right arm and leg. She is starting to communicate better each day, but her speech is still severely affected with a long road to recovery.
While we are thrilled with the exemplary care, she is receiving at the Spaulding Rehab, Sis' recovery and therapy will not stop once she gets discharged, she will require twenty-four care since she is unable to communicate. This crisis has led to a lot of heartache as well as the daunting task of extended physical and speech therapy and looming financial burdens since Sis is self-employed. Many accommodations will be required for continued therapy, and we want to give her the very best chance possible.
Any contributions will go directly to Sis to help support the out-of-pocket charges for the hospital stay and what will likely be many months of continued therapy and rehabilitation. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping Sis during this life-altering and tragic time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
