Medical Treatment for Sister Jane of Uganda
Donation protected
In 2022, I began a pen-pal relationship with my Ugandan friend, Brother James. He and his mother run one of the 600+ orphanages in the East African country. Sadly, there are over 3 million orphans in the Republic of Uganda. James cares for 32 of them.
James didn’t ask me for money. For months, we exchanged simple greetings. He told me about his non-governmental organization that helps homeless and fatherless children. He would share pictures and stories about his Coptic orphanage. Something which stood out to me most was that the only thing of value I had seen in the pictures was fresh vegetables. Yet nearly every child was smiling. Their values are so simple that they pray over a bowl of beans.
Along the way, James introduced me to his sister, Jane. (I even spoke to her over video chat.) I recognize these photos are difficult to see… Jane suffers from a flesh-eating bacterium. She is in so much pain that I have never seen her smile.
As I learned more about her condition, I found all she needed to begin treatment was $1,400. I couldn’t imagine having such an awful disease and knowing that there was virtually no hope of gathering the money needed to cure my pain.
Fortunately, I could help Sister Jane get admitted to the hospital to begin treatment. Her journey is not over, but now she has hope. Hope that tens of thousands of other African people wish they had because of this neglected disease.
This is my first time facilitating a fundraiser on Facebook, but I feel in my heart that it is the right thing to do. Yes, there are children here in the US and all over the world that need help. The thought of helping all of them is overwhelming. I didn’t choose to help Jane in place of anyone else; I believe I crossed paths with her because of divine intervention. I believe I was meant to help.
If you can contribute via GoFundMe, Brother James, Sister Jane, and I would be forever grateful. Thank you for your consideration.
(Please note that I have done a significant amount of due diligence to ensure funds are being used to treat Sister Jane. Brother James has also given his blessing to share these photos.)
