Find out more about Fallopian/Ovarian Cancer
Can't believe we have to do this for our sister. Never thought it would happen to someone you love. But it did. Our sister Linda is fighting for her life. Her husband Phil, son, Nathan and daughter, Olivia are fighting with her.
She is in her second year battle with a rare Fallopian tube cancer. Statistics for this type of cancer are that only 5% of women are diagnosed in the USA with this disease. The survival rate for this form of cancer is 5 years. Linda had to leave work due to extreme fatigue.
Her first fight started June 2012. After extensive surgery then chemo we thought, Yeah! Unfortunatley, 6 months later it returned. Another tumor. Most Dr.'s would not operate, but Dr. Hamid did the impossible and operated. Another major surgery! Radiation for 6 weeks. Finally another Cat Scan, two more tumors. WOW your kidding! Now back on chemo and Carbo Platinum, the big guns.. At Dana Farber...
Linda's attitude has been amazing. She is a fighter, caring for her two children and taking care of her home. Olivia is a 16 years old a Jr. in high school. Nathan is 19 graduating from high school trying to get into college. Very frustrating...
As a family we feel helpless, We can only be there for a shoulder and support. It is frustrating watching her struggle with cancer let alone finances. Thankfully there is a way to help.. We can try to help relieve the stress of financial struggles.
We love you Linda,
Laura, Tom, Barbara, Cheryl and Dad!!!!
