Sisters Swim for Surf Cerrito

Donation protected
On September 2nd, my sister Nicola Huet and I will be swimming 10km down the River Dart in Devon, UK. This is swimming’s version of the Marathon, with cold water and 550 other people, it’s going to be a good challenge for us.
We have decided to swim for Surf Cerrito CIC (https://www.surfcerrito.org), a charity co-founded by my daughter, that aims to empower young people from the underprivileged North Peruvian community of Cerrito de la Virgen and beyond through surfing. Most of the young people from this community do not know how to swim before they join Surf Cerrito despite living minutes from the sea, which leads to a general fear of the ocean, preventing it from being a safe and enjoyable space for them. Surf Cerrito aims to change this through providing these underserved communities not only with surf lessons, but also a safe space to learn and grow.
We aim to raise £600 which will fund the construction of a new training area out the back of the Surf Cerrito school, where they will lead surf training and theory classes and allow more young people to join the Surf Cerrito family.
We hope that our swimming challenge here in the UK will allow for more young people to enjoy being in the water just as much as we do.
Let's go!
