Help trans, disabled couple stay housed & safe
Donation protected
hi - i'm sascha. i'm a mixed pueblo/latine trans queer living in central tx. i live with & am the primary caretaker for my fiancee, who is dakhota, 2s, and multiply disabled/chronically ill.
texas obviously isnt the best place for trans people. my fiancee has been consistently denied access to healthcare by transphobic doctors who are unwilling to treat her because of dangerous misconceptions abt the trans community. we've both been subject to extreme transphobic treatment from employers, healthcare providers, and often just random people we dont know.
following estimate is kinda high but its taking emergencies into account. anything helps.
Estimate of funds needed -
$2100 for the full cost of moving (includes deposits, cost of moving out of state)
$4080 for 4 months' rent, assuming we can get on our feet after that
$1000 toward paying off medical debt, copays, medication and medical equipment (my fiancée is on oxygen and needs to regularly buy nasal cannula, etc)
remaining will go toward survival: food, transition costs, bills etc
