Sixth Ward Park WWI Memorial
Donation protected
Many of you know our neighbor Jack Tracy for his constant care and enduring passion to honor the memory of those whose lives are connected with Sixth Ward Park. Recently he, Tom Brooks, Chris Thompson, and I (Kelcy Waller) have set out on a project to purchase a granite stone and work with Lancaster City to create a permanent display honoring the fourteen men from the Sixth Ward who gave their lives during World War I.
Fundraising Goal: $3,500
A deposit has been put down by Tom Brooks at Gingrich Memorials. Tom has worked diligently on researching the names of the soldiers, and coming up with the design. The City will be putting in the foundation for the stone, and we hope to raise $3500 to cover the cost of the memorial. Any money raised above this amount will be used for flags, flowers (red poppies) and any other needs for the park.
Thank you in advance for your help in preserving history of the 6th Ward Memorial Park.
