Please help tide us over 'til December!

More unhoused friends than ever have visited the Friends Meeting House in Albuquerque this year, often asking for snack bags - especially in the afternoon/evening. Many say this is their only "meal" of the day.

In a survey of local agencies we learned that by 12:30 pm lunch at the two providers in our neighborhood ends, with no food service within easy walking distance at all on Saturdays. No wonder folks are hungry!

While funds allocated by the Albuquerque Friends Meeting budget for food/water to support unhoused neighbors were sufficient to cover needs in 2023, the combination of increased prices and numbers of visitors this year means we will soon run out of funds.

Based on current forecasts, we face a budget shortfall of about $1,000 to keep the food shelves supplied until the end of the Meeting's fiscal year on November 30th.

During these sizzling summer days, folks are suffering from heat, continued lack of adequate places to shelter (official or on the streets), and inadequate food/water.

Please help us fill the gap!

A contribution of any amount is most welcome, and will help us continue to provide some measure of sustenance to those who visit our doors regularly with hunger and thirst.
