Building Homes in South Africa
Donation protected
Hello Family and Friends!!
I hope this finds you well. As I'm sure most of you know, I'm passionate about service. In fact, for the past two years, I’ve had the honor to travel to South Africa with my church to build homes with Habitat for Humanity. I volunteer with several organizations in my personal time, but nothing has had quite the impact of South Africa. The homes we build go to deserving families, most of whom have been on a waiting list longer than many of us have been alive. Last year, we met the families who had moved into the homes we helped to build the previous year. The gratitude and feelings of elation were mutual between us. Our first build day there was the hottest day that Cape Town had seen in 100 years! But to see the smiles and to hug and pray with those families made it all worthwhile. On another day, the rain poured down making for a muddy worksite. Conditions were not ideal, but the work had to go on. What was sloppy became beautiful. What was messy became a masterpiece. 2014 was the first year of a pledge. 2016 marks the end of that pledge. We made a three-year commitment. I believe in finishing what I start. I need your help to finish strong.
Please help me to continue to serve and help others, to make this dream a reality. Your contribution goes directly toward hands and feet used to move bricks, mix cement, shovel sand, and ultimately, bless lives.
Matthew 25:37-40
37 "Then the righteous will answer him, "˜Lord, when
did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'40 "The King will reply, "˜Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
I need to raise $1,500 by March 1st!
If 100 of my family and friends give just $15 this will be paid in full!!! This may sound like a lot, but I believe that all things are possible to them that believe. Whether we know each other from Newberry, Columbia, Tallahassee, Los Angeles, church, performing on stage or film, or we met randomly, if you could see something in me, my heart, something that makes you want to support me in this effort, I thank you. If you have the ability to give more, I would truly appreciate it.
I would really like to serve in this capacity and I pray for your help in getting me there. I am forever grateful and look forward to sharing my journey with you!!! Thank you in advance!!!
