Chimbole Local Legend Statue
Tax deductible
In the early 1960s, the “50 Grand Men” stepped forward and worked together to incorporate the City of Palmdale. Through their perseverance and leadership, a strong foundation was laid for generations to come. The City of Palmdale, AV Nice and a committee of engaged citizens have joined forces to raise funds to honor our “Local Legends.”
The Local Legends Series will not only commemorate the contributions of our founding citizens, but will also provide treasured works of public art for future generations. The first in the recognition series will be a bronze statue, designed by local artist Michael D. Medina, of Palmdale’s first mayor, Larry Chimbole. The statue will be placed in Poncitlán Square. Currently approximately $3,500 is needed to cover an unanticiped cost overrun because the foundry that was going to cast the statue burnt down. Can you help?
