Skaggs Family Flood Fund

Donation protected
My name is Brandilyn Davidson and I have a story for you.

The Skaggs may look like your average family, but let me tell you a little bit more about them. Monica, my younger sister, is one of the most compassionate people I know - always silently serving others. Tyler is one of the hardest working people I've met, currently in school full-time and working to support his family. They have two little boys, Johnny (3 yrs.) and Matt (6 mo.) who are full of the most adorable smiles you ever did see.

Last night, their house flooded. When I say flooded, I don't mean just a little bit. The floors were literally floating. Carpet soaked in inches of dirty water. Toys, furniture, blankets, computers, beds - all soaked. With Tyler in school and Monica devoting all of her time to being a mother, they have very little resources to deal with this catastrophe. On top of that, they don't have renters insurance.

Christmas will be upon us in only a couple of weeks and what should be the most wonderful time of the year, for the Skaggs, will be spent living away from the comforts of home, dealing with this mess. Thankfully they live close to family, who will of course help and support them, but the emotional and financial hardship of this horrible situation will still be deeply felt for weeks to come.

Our goal is to raise as much money as we can by December 24th, so that on Christmas Day we can present this sweet and deserving family with the funds they will need to rebuild their life and home. This will include the necessary replacement of multiple furnishings and destroyed household items, the added cost of food and living expenses from being displaced from their home and just maybe enough to buy the kids a special little something from Santa.

I'm asking for your help in supporting this sweet family - who has no idea I'm doing this (shhhh).  I know lots of us are looking for ways to give this holiday season; look no further – this family needs you. If all you can give is $1, that's great. If you can give more, that's great too - every little bit counts.

What may seem like a simple act of kindness, can move mountains in the lives of others. I really believe that together we can truly work a Christmas miracle. Please share this with all those you know. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.
