Hola, me llamo Sarah soy Inglesa y llevo 23 años viviendo en España. El 15 de Abril voy a andar el Camino de Santiago, desde Bilbao hasta Santiago de Compostela. Mas que 500kms!! Estoy haciendo esto porque quiero ayudar un grupo de personas muy queridos por mi.

Todos los años viajo con mi familia y un grupo de voluntarios para trabajar en una chabola que se llama Kibagare, en Nairobi, Kenia.

Llevo 9 años ayudando niños y el colegio de la chabola, St Martins El Colegio de St Martins en Kibagare que tiene 800 niños de primaria y 200 de segundaria. Desde 2018 estoy llevando a cabo varios proyectos para la comunidad. Hay muchas heroes dentro de Kibagare, personas que están luchando para hacer la vida mejor, más seguro y con cualquier oportunidad que podemos ofrecer, implica una mejoría para las personas que viven allí y para la comunidad en general.

En 2018 conoció un niño que se llama John. Un estudiante en el colegio, un niño luchando para vivir bien y seguir estudiando. Ahora en 2024 John está a punto de graduar de la universidad con un grado súperio en Computer Science. Con posibilidad de buscar empleo y apoyar su madre y hermanos.

John quiere ayudar su comunidad y ha émpazado un Club de Skate, que siempre ha sido su pasión y le ha salvado su vida en varios maneras. El club es para los niños y niñas de la chabola. Que se unen, no están sueltos en las calles, y se sientan seguros y aprenden no solo el skate pero como es formar parte de un equipo. El club necesitan fondos para compar equipo, y para pagar un centro para que los niños patinan gratis.

Hi, I´m Sarah, I´m English and have been living in Spain for the last 23 years. I´m walking the Camino de Santiago starting on 15th April. I´ll be walking from Bilbao to Santiago de Compostela which is over 500kms. I am doing this because I want to help support a group of people who are very important to me.

Every year my family and I and a group of volunteers, travel to Nairobi in Kenya to work in a slum called Kibagare.

For the last 9 years we have been helping the children and the slum school, St Martins, St Martins School which has 800 primary school children and 200 secondary school girls. Since 2018 I have been running community based projects. There are many heroes within this community, people whos daily struggle to improve their lives and make their living

and feel safe. Any opportunity that we an offer will help the poeple and the community in general.

In 2018 I met a boy called John, a student at the school who was struggling to live well and continue his education. Fast forward to 2024 and John is finishing his degree in Computer Science. With the possibility of future employment he will be able to support his mum and his brothers and sisters.

John wants to help his commuity and he has started a skate club. Skating has always been his passion and in many ways has saved him. The club is for boys and girls from within the slum.

To bring them together, so they are not wandering the streets, so they can feel safe and be part of an activity and club and learn to skate!!
