On My Momma! Skateboards for kids!

Donation protected
2023 update!
I will be leaving this fundraiser open in case somebody donates.

This will go straight to the kids !!
We have reached out to the skateboarding family, local schools and our communities to find the kids that want and need a board. This is for our mom. She passed away in November 2020 after battling cancer and we want do something fantastic for her. We didn’t get to give her a hug goodbye. We didn't have a funeral and we also lost my father Jon in February of 2020 to cancer and did not have a funeral. This will be for the kids first but also a way for my brother and I to have some closure and begin our healing process by handing out boards.

I am working in the Brown county area to find kids who need boards and have been in contact with many local organizations.

My Brother Adam is working to generate donations and plans to use some funds to get boards to kids in Hartford City Indiana, where our family home is. Local police officer Taylor Ingram Who can often be seen skating at the skate park in town is also helping out. Hartford City can be a tough place to be a kid, same as so many places in Indiana and I remember skating there during holidays near Hoover Park and Elm Street.

You don't need any skateboarding skills to receive a board, just the desire to skate.

My mom Emily was told "no" too many times because she was a girl so we really want to include as many girls as possible. Our mom loved skateboarding, a few years ago, while battling cancer (she always wore checkerboard vans to chemo) we were skateboarding and she took a nasty spill and got back up LAUGHING. That's whats up!!!! She loved to tell us about her neighbor in the 60's who surfed and came back to Indiana with a skateboard. My favorite story of hers was when she skated fast all the way down "killer hill" when her brothers were too afraid. I remember her driving us to places to skate, buying us gear and just being 100% supportive of us and our friends. We are just doing our best to repay her and we are thankful to do something awesome for our mom.

Rhett skateboarding is hooking moms dream up with complete skateboards at cost which is so vital for this cause because it will help us get MORE BOARDS!!! Growing up in South Bend Indiana, there were only a few places to skate and back in the day Adam my mom and I would go to Kelley's Skate shop and mom threw down. Boards, Shoes and Clothes. Kelley's was a vital place for kids in that area, so it has been so great to hang out and put together boards again in a shop that serves the same purpose.

Hoosier artist Nathaniel Russell scored us TWO BOXES!! of Uma Landsled boards which is so awesome. We are going to be able to put together a bunch of boards. We can add Ed Templeton to the list of major donors too!!!

Our mom was one of the toughest women we knew and we want her spirit to live on through skateboarding, which we believe is a perfect match.

Thank you everyone,
