Hi all!
I am a Portuguese athlete residing in the UK and have done since 1996. I take part in athletics specializing in the 200m sprint and event which I am at a very high standard. As I near selection for next summers Olympics in Rio I want to be in the best shape of my life and cause ripples in the current sprint scene.
Following my achievements in the sport I am seeking external help to further my chances of competing in the next Olympics.
Currently I am receiving no external support hence why I have resorted to seeking support through crowd funding
In my short time in the Sport I have established myself as Portugal's number one 200m sprinter narrowly missing out on selection for the Olympic Games in 2012 by 0.07 seconds. Albeit I had already ran the selection time earlier that year only, it was slightly over the legal wind limit (+2.2m/s). The legal limit is (+2.0m/s).
Three years later, now being coached under the watchful eye of British sprint legend Linford Christie I've matured and progressed at a steady rate. However, naturally I expect 2016 to be a huge year for myself. I've already qualified for the 2016 European Championships for both the 200m and 4x100m therefore the season is already positively set up
Your funding would go towards travel, training and more importantly living costs. Part of what's required to fulfill potential is to live like an athlete meaning training more and resting more. There's 24 hours in a day, minimum of 8 is already used for sleeping, minimum of 4 is used for training and around 2hours per day will be spent commuting to and from training and between work and home. The less I work, the more time I will have to not only recover but also prepare the foods required to fuel my body through this demanding routine.
I have summarised my most recent achievements but should you require any more information do not hesitate to contact me as I would be more than happy to forward you a copy of my athletics CV.
