Skinwalker Cave feature film fundraiser

Skinwalker Cave
This fundraiser is to raise support for post production work and funds to enter and attend some film festivals. I got the idea for Skinwalker Cave from the countless stories I heard growing up on the Navajo Nation about the legendary creatures called the Skinwalkers or yannigloshi (wrong spelling in Navajo). My mom told me a story when I was younger about the time that I ran inside my house scared for my life. This happened the night she had me hanging some clothes up to dry for school the next day. I ran inside the house while the dogs where barking like crazy outside and I remembered once I ran in I seen my mom and my brothers just staring at me but it brought me comfort and I calmed down. I mumbled that I saw something and my little brother wasn't sure what I was saying so he gave me this pad to draw what I saw on it. I drew a picture of this man dog jumping from this tree and I remember my mom taking the drawing and while looking at it, smiled and said it was just my imagination. After she said that I justified in my mind it must of been some crazy rez dog or something. But never thought about it again. But I got a feeling later on in life she was just being a good
mother and protecting my little mind from what I saw. This and others stories inspired Skinwalker Cave. I hope to show and educate people on the mysticism and legends behind this iconic creature. It's becoming popular in pop culture with Skinwalker Ranch, Hunt for the Skinwalker, and the new western Skinwalker. I think its times that a Navajo talk about such a taboo topic. I believe this is the first of its kind and I hope I inspire other Native Americans on shooting horror films on the rez using our legends.
Synopsis
Vloggers from this all Native American paranormal group set out to find Skinwalker Cave on the Navajo Reservation after they receive a map that shows the location of this hot spot for Skinwalkers. They are skeptical and want to investigate and to film an actual Skinwalker, they are hoping with true footage of a Skinwalker they could gain more views online. They never return and investigators didn't know what happened to them until a camera was found in the area. The evidence on the camera was strange and disturbing an investigator was hired by the family to try to find out what actually happened to these kids on the Navajo Reservation.
What is it about?
Skinwalker Cave is about a journey into the mythology or facts about the Skinwalker from a Navajo perspective. I believe the legend is getting blurred with outside interpretations of the Skinwalker. I just wanted to share a story of what I always imagined what an encounter with a Skinwalker would be like especially if your from the city and don't know what your getting yourself into. I know its taboo, but it's part of my culture and now it's the time for the Navajo people to start to share our stories with the rest of the world.
Where did this project start?
Skinwalker cave started when I was in my highschool years thinking how cool it would be to make a horror movie where I grew up at. So I had this idea in back of my mind and finally during the pandemic I wrote the film. After I created Rez Dogs the movie in 2019 (not the show), I knew how to shoot a movie on a tight budget. That gave me the confidence to shoot this film. I noticed there are only a hand full of Native American horror films out there and decided it would be cool if there was another.

Risk and challenges
There is no doubt that our major challenge will be the financial hurdle to pay for production. Regardless, we are a determined crew who've has experience with producing films with little to no budget. We have the resolve to produce a great film and appreciate all the support in helping us concurring this. The other challenge would be the fight choreography and the costumes and set designs.
