Skipper T Cancer Treatment Expenses & Bills

Many people know my dad as “Skipper T”, the car detail man or the former nightclub owner. I know him as the man, John Tomaszewski, as a father, a Pawpaw and my best friend. He recently got the news that he has Cancer of the throat, (Stage 2), after struggling with losing his voice this past year. We are all rather stunned as hearing the term “cancer” is nothing you think about until it’s you or your loved ones.

Skipper is a very private man and doesn’t socialize much these days, so I’m sure this is news to some of you. I apologize for finding out this way but I’ve respectfully followed his lead on this.

My dad doesn’t have insurnace but is receiving medical help through Mission First, a great organization that’s help him before. However, he will begin radiation therapy soon and will be out of work for 7 weeks as he goes through treatment.

He lives very modestly, with low bills, but I’m not at a place I can cover his bills and mine simultaneously. That has brought us here, to humble ourselves as God instructs us to do and ask for help. I’d like to be able to help him cover his bills for two months so he can concentrate on his treatment and getting better.

Any small amount would help, and is very much appreciated.

* UPDATE on Skipper Tomaszewski

His vocal cords are completely swollen from radiation and he is unable to breathe. They are prepping him for surgery today, Tracheostomy.

He will be in the hospital for a few days.

Please continue to pray, specifically for his health during surgery and the doctors and teams in charge of his care. ✝️

Skipper is in stable condition at UMMC. We have filed for disability and speaking with a social worker about financial assistance. At this time, he is unable to go home until he purchases some necessary medical equipment so that he can return home with his new equipment for his Trach.
