Skipping for Umohazia Project

In 1994 over 100 days an estimated over 1 million Tutsis died in a horrific genocide in Rwanda. While the nation is rebuilding and healing the legacy of the events of 1994 linger.

Over the last decade Praise Christian Centre has travelled with survivors on their journey to emotional wholeness using Pastor Jayne’s counselling skills and thus the Umuhoza Project was born.

Every year in April there is an official time of mourning for the genocide. Unfortunately, although this is a time of remembrance, forgiveness and reflection on progress, those who have not recovered from the debilitating effects of trauma are re-traumatized during the period. For this reason and many more there is an ongoing journey of healing in Rwanda.

Help me raise money for the Umohazia Project:

When this project was shared in church, God spoke to my heart and asked me to be a partner and in addition to do something to support the fund raising. I now do 200 skips a day and am trusting God to raise £2000 to go directly to the Umohoza project. I am relying on all my friends to help make this possible.

Your support will:

• Bring comfort and hope to survivors of the genocide on their journey of healing during the memorial in

April. Empowering them to rewrite their stories of trauma with hope.

• Provide Pastoral Care And Counselling Training to empower lay counsellors, Pastors and Counsellors to come alongside those who are broken and hurting.

• Ensure the mentoring & coaching of young people to identify and release their giftings and lead in their world.
