Skippy - The School Therapy Dog needs help...

This is Skippy, our school therapy dog. He is 6 years old and is the most amazing dog – his calmness and serenity has allowed him to work with children across the school. He is there for those in reception who are nervous about coming into school. He teaches those children who are scared of dogs how to approach dogs and reassures them that there are some gentle animals out there. Most importantly, he works with those children who have had some sort of trauma in the past. He helps them come into school when they are having a bad day, he calms them when they are angry and lashing out, he is a cuddle when they are upset.

Unfortunately, Skippy was playing on the school field and suffered a serious injury to his back leg. He damaged his cruciate ligament and while having x-rays, it was discovered that he also had damage to both his knees. The treatment for this is long and difficult as well as very expensive but there is no question: he needs to get better!

Skippy loves coming into school as much as we all love having him there. We want to help pay for his treatment as we all miss him terribly and the support he gives our most vulnerable children. Please, any help at all will be appreciated by not only Skippy’s owners: Chloe and Kelly, but also by the rest of the school community. We know times are hard, especially as it is near Christmas, but if possible, please help us raise some money so Skippy can come back to us.
