The Peters Family

Hi, my name is Nikki, and I’m fundraising on behalf of the Peters family. Shelley Peters and I currently work together and have over the last several years. Beginning of 2019, Bill Peters was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and went through multiple types of treatment. In the last year or so, scans show that Bill’s tumors have been shrinking in some areas but growing in others. Bill’s oncologist prescribed different treatments to reduce the tumors, in some cases, it helped, but not 100%. Over the last few months, Bill began experiencing severe side effects from the chemotherapy, which caused his lungs to become inflamed and reduced his oxygen levels. The lack of oxygen caused Bill to go into cardiac arrest, and that’s when he began to fight for his life while in critical condition in the ICU. Sadly, Bill’s critical condition resulted in minimal brain activity, if any at all, and forced the Peters family to make the hardest decision of their lives.

As Shelley, Samantha, Brendan, and their family navigate through this challenging time, the last thing they need to worry about is medical bills. Shelley has worked many extra hours to help support their financial needs over the last few years while supporting Bill through his treatment.
