Skydive for The Air Ambulance
Hey folks,
There’s a strong chance this is a premature midlife crisis, but I’m going to jump out of a plane! A skydive is one of those typical bucket list things isn’t it? But I’ve realised as I’m getting older I’m turning into a bit of a whimp, so I best do it now before I lose my nerve and then regret not doing it.
Before my grandad passed away, he was The Air Ambulances no. 1 supporter. ALWAYS up to something to raise money for them, so there was no doubt in my mind that they’d be my chosen charity for this. I mean if I’m going to jump from a plane I may as well try and do some good while I’m at it!
A lot of people don’t realise this, but the helicopter emergency medical service is funded solely by public donations and get no government or NHS funding. It is responsible for treating patients involved in serious road traffic accidents, trauma cases or medical transfers, where rapid treatment and transport to a trauma hospital often becomes a matter of life or death.
Any donations are massively appreciated.
*skydive date to be confirmed later this week but will either be 21st June or 11th August 2024
