Skydiving for Brodie’s helmet
Donation protected
An amazing man, Gavin Foley, is doing a sky dive on the 16th April in Swansea and is willing to raise money for Brodie’s treatment.
Brodie is 3 months old and has plagiocephaly and brachyecphaly. Plagiocephaly is the flattening on the side of the head. Associated movements include a shift forwards of the ear and a bossed forehead on the same side as the flattening.
Brachyecphaly is flattening to the back of the head. Associated movements include a bossed or prominent forehead, flexed temporal lobes (Above the ears), a reduced neck line at the back of the head and a wider than normal head shape.
Unfortunately, helmets are not funded by the NHS because they say head shape is cosmetic. NHS offer guidance on repositioning the baby but unfortunately no matter what we do, Brodie’s right side is his favourite. The longer we leave it, the worse it could potentially get and harder to treat. I just want the best for our little boy. We don’t want the shape getting worse and it potentially causing issues in the future.
I understand most is going to be in the same financial situation at the moment but with being on maternity pay too, we’re unable to fund this alone.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be appreciated massively!
