Skylar Nelson’s Journey

Hi our names are Jill and Karin and we are fundraising on behalf of Eric and Suzy for our sweet niece Skylar.

As some of you know, Skylar our 8yr old niece has a presumptive diagnosis of Autoimmune Encephalopathy, a very rare and most often misdiagnosed brain disease.

Eric and Suzy have taken her for many opinions since this all started back in March of this year (2021). It’s been an emotional roller coaster to say the least and their sweet Sky-Pie has endured so much already with no real answers for her / our families.

She is currently in a Chicago Hospital where she is receiving treatment. Her team there however, is not comfortable proceeding and will be transferring her and her case to Mayo.

Mom (Suzy) has been by her side and Dad (Eric) has been home with their other 3 children and utilizing FaceTime for constant communication with his Wife, Daughter and her team of Dr’s.

They have ALL been through so much the last 9.5 months and we feel it’s necessary to attempt to fundraise for them. Any amount will help in Skylars Journey and relieve some of the financial burdens they’ve endured. From medical bills that are coming in to basic household needs, transportation etc.
