Slade’s Cancer Journey

By now some of you are aware that Mark Slade was abruptly diagnosed with colon cancer that has metastasized to his lungs and liver. He will soon begin a very lengthy chemotherapy regimen to stop the spread.

Chemotherapy treatments are very expensive, not to mention the scans, labs, if needed surgeries, many appointments, and the commute back and forth to the Oncology Center. It is very invasive therefore he will also not be able to work during his treatment. When someone is unfortunate enough to have to deal with these situations, the added stress of money shouldn’t be a factor and he deserves all the help we can give him!

Every single one of us has a story about Slade’s generosity, his undying friendship, and just him sitting there with his trademark shades and huge smile. That smile always made you feel welcome and you knew you were in the presence of a true friend. Slade has never said no to anyone when it came to favors, support, and money. He loves his friends and has never hesitated to do everything in his power to help anyone he knew, no matter the cost. Be it one day or decades. If he knew you, you were friends, if you were friends he treated you as family. We now have an opportunity to repay Slade’s big heart and generosity and help lessen the burden of cancer finances. All we ask is to do what you know Slade would do for you if the tables were turned. For a brief moment, we all need to be as generous as Slade has been his whole life and give what you can to help with his cancer journey. Keep his Slade in shades smile in mind and remember how he fills our heart with love every time we see him and show him he is not in this alone in this battle, and that he has a huge FAMILY standing behind him ready to fight this along side him every step of the way!

With that being said, it is now time to come together and pay it forward for one of the most kind hearted humble man we will ever come across!
