DSPD & N24 ≠ LAZY

Donation protected
My name is Philip Wolff.

I’ve lived with a Circadian Sleep Disorder since childhood—and I know the frustration of being called lazy when your sleep is controlled by a deeply rooted biological condition.

Circadian disorders like DSPD and N24 disrupt the body’s internal clock—throwing off the natural rhythm that tells us when to sleep.

Normally, the brain releases melatonin in the evening to help us fall asleep—but with circadian disorders, that signal arrives hours too late.

I've tried every treatment—melatonin, light therapy, cutting out screens and bright light at night, strict sleep hygiene. Nothing worked.

And I’m not alone.

In a survey by the Circadian Sleep Disorders Network, only:

After a decade of failed treatments, I was devastated. What now? All I wanted was to sleep like everyone else.

I may sleep at unconventional hours, but I’m not lazy or undisciplined—I’m living with a medical condition.

That’s why I started Sleep Wake Awareness: to change how the world sees people like me—and to fund the research that could one day give us our lives back.

Imagine being able to send your loved ones a video featuring a world-class sleep expert—saying:

“This is a real medical condition. Your child, your partner, your friend is not lazy.”

That’s what we’re building. And your donation will help make that video a reality—not just for you, but for thousands of others who need to be seen and believed.

What Your Donation Will Help Build:

We’ll interview leading sleep researchers who can explain—on camera—that DSPD and N24 are real biological disorders, not personal failings.

We’ll edit the interview into short, shareable clips—designed for your loved ones to watch in one minute or less.

We'll also create explainer videos that highlight the science, the urgent need for a cure, and the fact that kids can be affected too.

Your donation will fund:
  • A podcast-style video interview with sleep researchers (full interview will be uploaded)
  • Writers, videographers, and editors to make high-impact videos and clips that can shift public perception and spark real change
  • Fees to register as a nonprofit and pursue grants for a cure

Once the awareness videos are complete, we’ll launch a major fundraising campaign for research—and partner with media outlets to bring our stories into the spotlight.

As a graphic designer, I’ve led visual projects for other organizations and know how to bring creative ideas to life.

Now I’m using those skills to serve a mission that’s deeply personal.

If you believe in this mission, I’d be honored to have your support. Let’s build a future of understanding, dignity, and hope for a cure.

Your donation brings us closer to:
  • Changing public perception of DSPD and N24
  • Funding a future of research—and one day, a cure
