Each year, more than 800 Commercial Vehicle Drivers are killed in a collision. More die as a result of heart attacks, strokes and other medical episodes. There are shootings, stabbings, suicides, and more. It is estimated that the transportation industry loses up to 5,000 people each year.
What happens when one of those is a parent? How do you mend the pain of the loss for Christmas?
truckersfinalmile.org is an IRS recognized 501 (c) (3) Charity Organization with a distinct Mission to reunite North American Truck Drivers in Times of Crisis.
This year, we are launching our "Sleigh Bells and Santa" Campaign to bring Christmas to the Children of truckers that have lost their lives in the course of their employment or self employment. Additionally, we will grant a wish of a CDL holder that has a terminally ill child.
Requests for benefit must be sent to [email redacted] not later than 10 December 2015 and events of loss of life are eligible from 10 December 2014 forward.
You do not have to be a previous client of truckersfinalmile.org, and you do NOT have to be a CDL holder to Donate.
Benefit and wish grants will be announced at a to be determined location on 18 December 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and on our main Charity Facebook.com/truckersfinalmile page.
Benefit availability is dependent solely upon funds availability and may be limited. NO specific amount is guaranteed to be distributed to qualified applicants.
