Slimey Boyz (7vs7 Travel Team)

Hi my name is Malaika and I’m the Team Manager of a National 7vs7 football team. I chose to do this because I see a lot of underprivileged young men roaming around the neighborhoods doing senseless crimes. I know I can’t save them all but if I can save a few I feel like I’ve done something in the community. Unlike a lot of these 7vs7 teams they’re being sponsored by big companies. I tried asking for help but most have shut me down. I refused to let this stop me from letting these young men perform and showcase their talent. The coaches and myself have been funding the team out of our pockets on our low wage incomes it hasn’t been easy and a lot of sacrifices have been made but the smiles on these young men faces is my motivation to keep going. So far we have been to 3 tournaments and won 2 of them. We earned bids to nationals the more we win the more we can perform in front of thousands. That’s when it become tough with fundings. The fundings we collect will contribute to housing, transportation, and food for these young men. Thank you for taking the time out to read and donate.
