Slough Children First - Giving Care Leavers a Xmas
Donation protected
Hi,
Firstly, thankyou for taking the time to look at my Go Fund Me page. My name is Natalie Noble, I have always been heavily involved in charity work, raising money for all manner of charities focusing on supporting children and young adults.
I am super passionate about not forgetting those children who have not had a great start to life.
For a number of years, I have worked with charities supporting the most vulnerable children in Berkshire and spent a lot of time fundraising to give these kids a resemblance of a Christmas.
This year I am working with Teena Wilcock, at Slough Children First who alongside a team of social workers, support young people that have experienced the worst kind of humanity, from the very people that should have loved them.
She and the team, focus on young people who are leaving the care system (ages 17-22) and who will be on their own at Christmas. They have Nothing and No One, and their stories would break you.
I have already fundraised this year, raised a few thousand, but I need much more.
So, what do I need the money for.... well....
We are looking to give 20 young people a Christmas, that shows them they are not forgotten and they are worthy of having people shower them with thought, Christmas cheer and love.
Firstly we are looking at giving each young person some necessities, a winter coat, trainers, underwear, jeans, joggers, jumpers etc
Then we would like to give them a food hamper, full of necessities and also those Christmas luxuries we all have.
Additionally we want to give them shopping vouchers to enable them to get food shopping.
We also want to give them what we call emergency vouchers for places like Greggs/SubWay/Costa etc. Why ? I hear you ask, well because they only have £57 to live on a week, out of this comes gas and electric. With so little, its easy to run out of money, gas and electric, so either they cannot afford to get food or they don't have the facility to make it, so if they can pop to a local take out to get a hot meal, they can. More often then you would want to imagine, they go hungry ! Its is not right.
Then, I want to give them gifts, proper gifts not just survival gifts.
They deserve this, they really do, they have been let down so very badly, and this small gesture means so very much.
I do not get to meet these young adults, as some of them are incredibly vulnerable, but their care workers will deliver the gifts and wouldn't it be wonderful if they could arrive with armfuls.
I have limited time as Xmas is around the corner, ideally I need all donations in no later than 7th December
I want to show these kids the best of humanity and show them there is love out there.
If you donate, please leave an email address, and I will tell you what we achieved
Forever grateful
