SlugGate: Help Ian Cook Fight Council Corruption In Court
Donation protected
In 2019 Ian Cook’s business, I Cook Foods, was closed by the State Government of Victoria.
41 workers lost their jobs and Ian and his family lost everything they had ever worked for.
At the same time, the City of Greater Dandenong laid 96 charges against Ian and his business based on false evidence (including a slug that was planted in his factory by a council inspector.)
When the case came to court, Council realised Ian would fight every single charge. This would mean that Council staff would be questioned, under oath, about allegations of manufacturing evidence in order to bring false charges.
By the end of the first day of the trial, Council dropped all 96 charges.
Now, Ian Cook is suing Council, and key Council staffers, for malicious prosecution. Ian is doing this to expose the actions Council committed to shut down I Cook Foods.
Ian has lost everything, but he will never give up.
Please donate and help Ian fight Council in Court. This Council must be held to account. All Australians deserve to know what really happened.
Please share this fundraiser on your social media . Every dollar you can donate gets us closer to justice.
