Relying on the kindness of strangers

Hi, my name is Sabe and I am fundraising to cover unexpected medical bills. My son had very alarming biopsy results that yielded positive for CTCL/Mycosis Fungoides which is a very rare form of skin cancer/lymphoma. Trying to rule out it being systemic meant a battery of bloodwork and a second round of biopsies. He goes to school in North Carolina on an almost full scholarship and has a job. All of this has been tremendously disruptive to his life and the cost has been more than we can manage between him and I. His insurance is with the University so the deductible is very high and all of these costs are coming out of pocket. Everything is looking as if this is just cutaneous and not systemic which is an enormous relief and we could not be happier, or more grateful but we still have one very expensive test to get done which is not covered by insurance to rule it out almost 100%. As relieved as we are in that aspect, the reality is that these bills are not going anywhere and as a single income household it falls on my shoulders (and his), to cover them. I live in Miami so flying him down to see doctors has been an additional cost and now that he has to begin treatment, it is about an hour away from his school so that will add significantly to his expenses. He has to see a Dr. 3 times a week. I can’t work more than my 3 jobs so I find it impossible to pay off these expenses. I am relying on the kindness of anyone who can be empathetic enough to stand in my shoes, as a mother, as a provider and as a woman who does nothing but work to support her children. I hope you will find it in your heart to help us in any way.
