Small Heart, Big Beats!

The first book in a nine-book series is about a SUPERHERO named, JORDAN who has a heart condition.

After his third heart surgery, JORDAN wakes up to discover he has superhuman powers! Even though his heart condition causes some physical limitations, he finds ways to use his newly discovered superpowers to help others and realizes that we all have superhuman powers, we just need to look within.

Small Heart, Big Beats! was developed from a dream I, Amber Menjivar had in January 2022. It was inspired by my grandson, Anthony JORDAN Garcia, who has Hypo-Plastic, Left Heart Syndrome. The left side of his heart does not properly supply blood to his body because it is small and underdeveloped.

While I was writing the book, Small Heart, Big Beats! I was further inspired to develop a series of children's books, each based on real-life children suffering from disabilities, but are endowed with divinely gifted powers they use to encourage themselves and help others. Thus, THE COURAGEOUS KIDS CLUB is the series title, and Small Hearts, Big Beats! will be the first book released.

In the summer of 2022, Anthony JORDAN went to Camp Taylor, a medically supervised heart camp for kids just like him, all fighting heart disease.

One of his greatest desires is to help other kids get to camp. For that reason, a portion of the profits of Small Heart, Big Beats! will be donated to Camp Taylor so they can continue helping kids like Anthony JORDAN with heart disease.
