We were excited to reopen the store after suffering from two months of business closure due to COVID-19.
Being a part of the Peoria Community, we support and welcome peaceful protests. We also hope for a great change but it did not stay peaceful.
My business was looted by riots on 6/1/20 at 2:50 am. More than 50 people from more than 20 cars broke the door & window. The store equipment was damaged and ruined. Part of my store got broken and looted. In other riots, buildings and businesses were brought down in flames.
What did our business do? We, along with other business owners, did nothing, and to strip us of our hard work and life savings is sad and unacceptable. How could people do this to a business that had nothing to do with the current situation?
We moved to Peoria three years ago from Chicago where we lived our whole life after we immigrated to States. It was a bit of struggle to adjust to this city but we were trying our best to build, grow, and be part of this community. We were very impressed by how our customers and people here treated, encouraged, and supported us in helping our struggle. We would like to rebuild and want to make this city bright. I believe that my business could be a part of it.
No amount is too small. This GoFundMe will be used to rebuild and recover our small business and donated to the community as well.
Thank you all for your support!
