Small Things Matter: Help Our Neighbors in 2022
Tax deductible
Small Things Matter provides 1000 food insecure families in Takoma Park, Silver Spring, and Rockville, MD with food support. Since March 2020 we have distributed over 2 million pounds of food.
Montgomery County is transitioning from an emergency feeding plan to a recovery plan and Small Things Matter's allocated funding levels are being reduced. Starting in February 2022 we will be receiving 25% less in Montgomery County funding used to purchase both fresh produce and pantry items and this is in addition to previous cuts that eliminated funding of produce for 7 apartments in Takoma Park and Silver Spring. This program will be ending in June 2022 and additional cuts may occur before then.
We are raising funds so that we can continue to provide families in need with fresh produce and pantry staples.
The second anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic is coming up on March 11, 2022 and we see that families are still struggling to make ends meet. Businesses have closed down permanently, students have fallen behind as schools went online, and many have succumbed to COVID-19. Our country has not recovered and new strains of COVID-19 are evolving and presenting us with even more challenges.
Please help us support our neighbors. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated and will make a positive difference. We are a 100% volunteer-run 501(3)c nonprofit and 100% of your donation will go to help feed those in need.
Thanks for your kind support!
