Melissa and Family

Hi! As some already know, Melissa continues to have new cancer mets. At the end of the summer, they found tumors in both of her lungs and started her on Keytruda. The treatments seem to land her in the hospital and unsure if they are even helping. Due to the amount of oxygen she has been on and the side effects, it has been difficult for her to be alone. Someone needs to be home with her and able to drive her to appointments and treatments. This can cause a lot of stress on a family that is already stressed watching their loved one struggle. As of just last week, Melissa had a seizure and stopped breathing(thank goodness Mark and Haley were home and able to put oxygen on her) She has been in the hospital since that night and new scans now show that she has at least 10 metastatic lesions in the brain. Being told to get your affairs in order and bring everyone in to possibly say goodbye is extremely hard. The fighter that Melissa is continues to show as she lets the doctors and everyone know she is still in this battle and wants to know what is next to be done to help her. They plan to start whole brain radiation next week because she is showing who the boss is and improving!!! I would like to help ease some of the financial burden all of this causes and allow Mark and everyone some peace as they stay out of work to help Melissa. Gas alone is expensive to make these trips back and forth to be with Melissa and if she can get home, they will need to go every day to have radiation. Please share and know that any amount helps. Most of all, continue to pray for Melissa. She is so humble and while fighting for her life, is always wanting to make sure others are also ok.
