Hi everyone. My name is Taylor and I am a single mom to two wonderful, amazing little girls. I work in social services providing support to youth who are aging out of foster care and struggling with homelessness, to ensure they have the tools and resources they need to be successful adults. Asking for help is hard, so it is with great humility that I am here. I do not have any family to ask for support, I have been isolated from the majority of my friends, and unfortunately this seems to be my last option. I work 40+ hours per week, but due to the lack of funding for social programs, I am not paid well.
For the last year, my daughters and I have been living in an environment that isn’t the best due to an unhealthy relationship with my ex partner. Despite trying to save up money to move, there is always something that requires the extra funds I’ve saved (car repairs and vet visits mostly). I’ve been trying to sell any and everything I have that I don’t need but it’s just not enough to move.
My daughters deserve to grow up in a healthy, loving home. This is something I didn’t have growing up, and I want to be able to give this to them. I want to be able to give them the world, but our own place to live would be a great place to start.
Due to the unhealthy nature of my ex partner and my relationship, there is a possibility that we will be facing homelessness within the next month. For that reason, I am asking for help.
