Smiling John's Larchmont Taxi

Smiling John's need's our help! As Larchmont Train Station's iconic taxi driver serving our community with laughter and a smile for over 50 years, it is time to let him know how much we appreciate and care about him and the service he provides.

Why he needs our help.....
John was admitted to Greenwhich Hospital on Sat Feb 5 due to a rapid heart rate and trouble breathing. Due to multiple medical issues he was transfered to Yale New Haven Hospital System last Wed where they did a surgical procedure called an ablation to correct the situation. At first it went well, but a few hours later John went into cardiac arrest and had to be revived.

He is stablized and recovering but they need to do another procedure to put in a pace maker. John is scared and feels alone and it would be great if our community could send a message to him that he is not alone because we are all behind him.

John relies heavily on the daily contributions we all provide for our rides home to cover his routine expenses. He is very anxious knowing his expenses and medical bill are increasing while he is in the hospital and not able to generate any income.

He is at St Raphael's Hospital in New Haven which is the Cardiac Hospital for Yale University Health System. A note, card, or call would go a long way in putting a smile back on Smiling John's face.
