Smitty Forever... Smitty Strong
To all who know Jeff “SMITTY” Smith,
First and foremost, thank you for supporting the Smith family during this heartbreaking and difficult time.
As many of you may have heard, on Thursday evening July 30th 2020, Jeff Smith experienced cardiac arrest causing an anoxic brain injury. We are saddened to inform you that after a hard fought week in the ICU, Jeff has succumbed to his injuries. Although we were praying for a miracle, we are grateful to inform you that Jeff was surrounded by his four loving children until his last breathe. Jeff is remembered by his friends and family as a devoted father, loving grandpa, the best son, and one of a kind friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As his children, we are doing our best to take care of his medical and financial responsibilities now that he is unable. At this time, we are asking all who love Jeff to offer their support to ensure that our father’s legacy is able to live on as we see him thru to the next chapter of his eternal life.
Although there isn’t words to express our sorrow, we are proud to remember the love our father has always had for our deeply rooted and loyal Oceanside community and the great people who make it what it is. We will always be grateful for the waves we surfed, hugs he gave, smiles he shared, sunsets we watched, trips we took, stories he told and the countless North County lives he touched.
We are not done fighting for our dad even after his passing, ensuring his legacy and love for his larger Oceanside family has the opportunity to live on. We will continue to fight for his memory and the things he loved, as we are certain he would be fighting for any of us.
Thank you for your support and please continue to lift up our dad and our family in prayer. We hope that you find peace in knowing that he was surrounded with prayer, love, Rolling Stones, and his favorite Oceanside summertime reggae playlist until his last breathe. There will never be another sunset that will be watched without someone somewhere remembering and smiling at the thought of our dad.
Please know that if you are reading this, our Smith family loves you and appreciates your endless support.

We love you.
