Smurf's Celebration Of Life Fund

Mike "Smurf" Ruot has been a staple in the Springfield scene for years. It is no secret that over the past year or so, his health has diminished. Just last week, a trip to the hospital resulted in tests determining only 20% of his heart is working now and there is no treatment. Doctors have given Smurf roughly six months. 
   In perfect "Smurf Style", he's keeping up his spirits and wanting to make the absolute best of his remaining time, but he has no funds. Nothing. 
   Although there is a celebration of life event going on on Saturday, October 19th from noon-4 at The Curve Inn, time is of the essence. He still has basic living expenses and no income. Your help can provide him with the basic essentials, plus some funds to maybe get the medication he's taking, or the continued care he may need, or maybe just a night out to dinner with his family. There will be no Carnival Cruises, but what the heck? If our community steps up, why not send our buddy off with a bang? 
   Smurf has given all of us laughter, a good time and always a hug or handshake. It's time we step up and help out our dear friend in this very emotional time.
