For more than a decade Mestizo Dance Company has brought a wonderful dance spectacle to audiences in New York City. Thalia Spanish Theatre has been a valuable partner for the company since 2003. This year, in 2015, Mestizo Dance Company brings an ambitious completely new production... AFROCOLOMBIA, a 90 minute show of folklore dance and live music from the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of Colombia. The show emphasizes the African influence on Colombian music and the multi-racial encounter after Europeans and Africans arrived to America.
With a crew of 16 dancers and 7 musicians on stage the company will open its 2015 season on November 6th at Thalia Spanish Theatre for six weeks.
